Therapist Spotlight - Sarah Swaney, LMSW
Sarah graduated with her Masters in Social Work from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and her Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Sarah's approach to therapy is supportive and empowering, and she believes in practicing curiosity instead of judgment. Sarah seeks to help clients in developing a greater sense of compassion towards themselves, building distress tolerance skills, and gaining more awareness of their needs.
Sarah enjoys utilizing evidence-based modalities, such as motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT, ACT, Mindfulness, and EMDR, and also believes in applying a trauma-informed perspective with her clients. In her free time, Sarah enjoys reading, spending time outside, and hanging out with her cats.
