Embracing the Healing of Nature
Kristy Gungler is the founder of Three Planted Seeds. In this episode of Awe Stories, Kristy shares with us her experience of reconnecting with the love of nature, finding yoga during a pregnancy after miscarriage, mothering through postpartum anxiety, and how the tools of mindfulness, essential oils, and yoga keep her grounded and connected so she can show up as her best self. Kristy also shares ways that she has passed these traditions and tools along to her children, getting them excited about sharing yoga with their friends and using essential oils for healing.
Kristy first stepped on a yoga mat back in 2006 while pregnant with her first child. She was looking for a way to keep her job-related stress at a minimum. She still vividly remembers how she felt after class. The feeling of peace and joy had such a positive affect on her physically, mentally, and emotionally. And so her yoga journey began.
As a mother of 2 children, Kristy started to integrate her teachings from yoga into her journey through motherhood. Feeling so connected to this practice and wanting to pass it on to her family and others that in 2011 she received a certificate to teach kids yoga. In early 2013, again followed her heart and enrolled in the Yoga 360 School of Teaching 200 hr CYT Yoga and Ayurveda teacher training. Kristy leads her life by following her heart and passions.
In addition to becoming a certified yoga teacher, Kristy also holds a bachelor’s degree in science, studying environmental biology and worked as a certified veterinary technician for 10 years. Currently she is studying aromatherapy and completing the requirements to become a 300 hour certified clinical aromatherapist. She is deeply passionate about and connected to all aspects of nature. She often looks to nature as a guide to her life’s journey, and is truly grateful for all it has taught her. She is looking forward to serving others, sharing yoga, aromatherapy and nature’s wisdom.
